From Glanadda
The river Adda rises somewhere near the carpark of B&Q, amongst the retail parks on the edge of Bangor. It runs in a culvert beneath factories and garages, down alleyways and between shopping centres, mostly unknown to passers-by, whether long-term residents or visitors to this small city. Occasionally, signs of the Adda make themselves visible - a small waterfall disappearing under Caernarfon Road, or the sound of water rushing under a manhole cover outside a Chinese restaurant. Walking the river reveals the history of Bangor too; of what was here before and what has been hidden away and transformed.
